Just hours after pleading not guilty to charges in connection with the disappearance of his estranged wife, Fotis Dulos posted $500,000 bail and walked out of jail wearing an ankle bracelet to monitor his movements.
Moments later, his defense attorney, Norm Pattis, said his client had no motive to kill Jennnifer Farber Dulos.
"Mr. Dulos had no motive to kill Jennifer," Pattis said in a statement to Daily Voice following Dulos' release. "A recent court-ordered recommendation was that Mr. Fotis share custody 50/50 with Ms. Fotis.”
State’s Attorney Richard Colangelo had argued for a higher bond of $850,000 earlier Tuesday, June 10, after revealing that Dulos' DNA had been found in the kitchen faucet of the home of Jennifer Dulos who has been missing since Friday, May 24, but Stamford Superior Court Judge John Blawie denied the motion.
Pattis, who also represents Infowars host Alex Jones, said that he plans to work to reunite Dulos with his five children.
“We will soon address how he is best able to resume his relationship with his children," Pattis told Daily Voice.
Jennifer Dulos, 50, was reported missing around 7 p.m. Friday, May 24 after failing to show up to numerous appointments. She was last seen earlier that morning dropping her children off at the New Canaan Country School.
The couple had been in the middle of a contentious divorce, and Jennifer Dulos had expressed concern for her safety, saying she was afraid of her husband in court papers.
Both Fotis Dulos and his girlfriend, 44-year-old Michelle Troconis, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence and hindering prosecution. Troconis bailed at last week and has since met with state police and Colangelo.
“Obviously, we’re happy to see him head home," Pattis said of his client. "We are also looking forward to the forthcoming trial."
Meanwhile, New Canaan and Connecticut State Police are continuing their search for the missing mother.
